This song was written by me many years ago and released in 2020. Six years later I finally created a lyric video for it! The song is inspired by the American Dream and search for meaning and fulfillment. I didn't know how to arrange and produce music back then so I got help from a producer. I think he did an amazing job arranging the song and building up the climax.
The lyrics are inspired by the line "They’ve all come to look for America" from the song "America" by Simon & Garfunkel. "America" was released in 1968 and written by Paul Simon. The song is about two young lovers hitchhiking across America. I’ve always wondered what happened to the people in this song. Did they find their America or are they searching still?
For the music video I used whatever free clips I could find that would help paint this romanticized image of America. And just like the speaker in this song I’ve never been to America.

Looking For America Lyrics
Some say that dreamers are believers and I believe that’s true
If there is something there for everyone I should go there too
And dream about all the things to do
Watching all the movies too
I knew someone he looked for something maybe he found it too
Maybe on a road, in a motel, maybe on some avenue
Doing what he had to do
Looking for something greater too
So did you find your America
Did you find your America
Some say that dreamers are believers and I believe that’s true
Those who seek they shall find so I should go there too
Cause I’ve never been to America
No I’ve never seen your America
Did you cross the widest ocean
Swim the darkest of the seas
Did you climb the highest mountains
Run across the desert fields
You left to look for America
Long gone to look for
America
Did you cross the ocean
Swim the darkest seas
Did you climb the mountains
Run across the fields
They say you said
They say you said
I’m off to America
I must look for America
Oh maybe I should go there too
Maybe I will find you
Looking for your America
Did you find your America
Are you still looking for America
